CRA Represent a Client

For my clients, one of my asks is to be setup as your CRA authorized representative on any personal and business CRA accounts. CRA recently updated the authorization process, and now the most straightforward way to do this is to login to your CRA My Account.

After logging in, you can add an authorized representative directly from your profile. At that point, I can provide my business number, which shows that Michael Martin CPA Inc. is a registered and legitimate representative.

What this allows me to do on your behalf:

  • Find additional tax slips

  • See any carryforward balances

  • Check CRA mail and correspondence

  • Represent you to CRA including submitting documents on your behalf

  • File GST returns

  • Support with questions about transaction history, especially helpful for business accounts as there can be corporate tax, payroll and GST balances
